Summer 2018Get up to speed with Brown’s Cakes

If you’re looking for the perfect cake for any occasion, give yours a personal touch with the award-winning Brown’s Cakes.

Natasha Brown, who has around a decade of experience, crafts each cake with the recipient in mind, and it shows. From baking each cake individually to intricate attention to detail, a Brown’s cake is truly like no other.

Catering for birthdays, christenings, anniversaries, baby showers, hen parties, weddings, engagements and more, Brown’s has won prestigious awards such as Cake International and the Baking Industry Awards.

Natasha’s creative sugar creation of the Royal Family graced the cover of Cake Masters, and she presented celebrity chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli, with an incredible sugar-paste likeness at the Rochdale Food and Drink Festival.

Natasha created a bespoke jam-and-cream sponge replica of a custom racing helmet for an 11-year-old go-karting protégé, Sandro Ballesteros. Sandro, who began karting when he was six, has won several titles and podium positions after the sport gave him a confidence boost, including the 2017 Autism Hero awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sport. He was presented with the helmet by his own ‘autism hero’, Austin Riley.

Sandro’s dad, Antonio said: “The cake was fabulous; it was a shame to cut it up. We were first recommended Brown’s by a friend. We were very impressed with the quality, and the price, considering the time that Natasha must put into them.

“Since Sandro got the custom helmet – along with his Autism Hero Award – it has been his favourite possession of all, and he really treasures it, so it was very easy for us to decide what to have as a novelty cake.

“When he saw it, he thought it was amazing. He couldn’t stop admiring the detail and comparing it to his racing helmet that it was modelled after. It was pretty close to the real thing to say it was copied from a series of photographs.

“Brown’s did a fantastic job, and the cake was certainly the talking piece of the party.”
