Summer 2019Junction 21 Executive Travel
Multi-award-winning executive travel company Junction 21 is a real Rochdale success story.
A taxi driver in the borough for over 20 years, Heywood born resident John Byrne decided to invest in his own company and cater for customers throughout the Greater Manchester area over 10 years ago.
Founded with just one chauffeur driven Mercedes Benz in the autumn of 2008, the business has now expanded to provide three levels of service:
Bronze – Standard Business Class
Silver – Executive Business Class
Gold - Chauffeur Driven Mercedes Benz
All new recruits begin as bronze drivers and through continued in-house training, and attainment of NVQ Level 2 qualifications in Passenger Transportation, progress to providing the silver and gold service.
The business hit a high in 2015 when it won Business of the Year (turnover under £1million) at the Rochdale Business Awards ceremony, as well as John being nominated as a finalist for the Business Person of the Year.
John, owner of the family business run alongside his wife, Pauline, and sons, Michael and Daniel, said: “I love what I do and I am proud of the success of the company.
“We provide over 70% of the business community with Manchester Airport transfers, and an increasing number of private customers who are looking to start their holiday off in style.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer our expert service at affordable prices in the Rochdale area and beyond.”
With a fleet of company and driver owned Mercedes, the cars are used for a variety of services including executive business travel, wedding car hire, prom car services and airport transfers.
A thriving business since the beginning, Junction 21 has expanded across two companies – J21 Chauffeurs and J21 Airport taxis, an online airport taxi service founded five years ago.
