The skin is one of the largest organs in the body in weight and surface area, yet it can be the most neglected. Every hour, our body makes 200 million skin cells, making it a priority to feed our skin with a healthy diet full of vitamins, minerals and nutrients.

Our bodies prioritise nutrients to our key organs such as the brain, liver and kidneys, leaving our skin at the bottom of the list.

Nutrition plays a pivotal role in skin health. Our diet only provides some of these nutrients and supplements can fill this gap by providing our skin with the nutrition it needs.

A study in 2006 by the British Journal of Nutrition highlighted the benefits that vitamins and nutrition have on the skin.

Premium nutrition supplements help with all concerns, from congested or lacklustre skin to wrinkles and fine lines, working alongside a prescribed skincare regime as recommended by your skin therapist.

Acne

Frequently considered a teenage skin problem, acne can affect everybody no matter their age. Hormonal changes are one of the biggest causes of acne and can be especially common in menopausal women. You generally find hormonal breakouts around the mouth and chin.

Specific acne skin supplements can target acne inflammation at the root, nourish your skin with much-needed nutrients and improve your skin cell turnover rate. Other factors contributing to acne are digestion issues and this is commonly seen on the forehead area. Taking probiotic supplements can aid in alleviating this concern.

Ageing skin

From the age of 25, our collagen levels deplete by 1% per year, resulting in loss of elasticity in the skin and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Premium supplements targeted at ageing skin can support collagen cell renewal, hydrate the skin, leaving a plumping effect and provide overall brightness thanks to Vitamin C.

Dry and sensitive skin

The external environment can cause havoc with our skin, especially if you already have dry or sensitive skin. Nutrition supplements containing omegas, vitamins and hyaluronic acids help combat these issues from the inside out as they work to balance the skins’ barrier, address textural irregularities (roughness, flaking) and hydrate the skin.

With any premium skin supplements, it is strongly advised that you seek professional advice from a skin therapist to find the right supplement your skins’ needs.
